The last time they ventured out onto the now crystal waters of Auckland Harbour, Emirates Team New Zealand achieved perfection on their foil-to-foil manoeuvres and established themselves, quite rightly as the unquestioned holders, at the very apex of the contenders for the 37th America’s Cup. Elise Beavis, the current Women’s Waszp World Champion, one of ETNZ’s Performance Engineers and a true global superstar of the foiling generation offered refreshingly honest insight into the first day after the break, saying: “It was really good getting back into the routine of things having had about a month off the water. The last time we were sailing, we were sailing 43 - the one design boat - but today we're back on 41 the LEQ12, and the processes around that in starting the day, ending the day and saving the data from the sailing day is a little bit different, so remembering those and also just all the processes going alongside the chase (boat) and stuff but everyone got back into the swing of things.” Section 41. Reconnaissance a) As a campaign cost reduction measure, COR/D has mutually agreed to cooperatively implement a centralised reconnaissance programme for all teams for the reconnaissance of all Competitors’ AC75 Yachts, AC40 Yachts and LEQ12 yachts including both on-land and on-water imagery (the “Joint Recon Programme”). b) Each team is assigned a two-person Recon Unit to follow their every on-water move, but it's not that simple. The cameras are supplied and identical for all Recon Units. Drones are not allowed, and they can't get that close, plus following a boat and keeping a camera steady at 45 knots isn't that easy to begin with. c) A three minute interview follows each on water day, and teams must answer the Recon Unit's questions while trying not to give too much away.
