Elan E6 Performance test: DOWNWIND

Elan Yachts joined with a team of sailors with Olympic, RC44 and other experience to test the new Elan E6, especially the performance side of the performance cruiser equation. This test focused on downwind performance. The team experienced 18-24 knots of constant southern winds. The maximum recorded speed of the Elan E6 yacht during this testing was 12.4 knots of speed over ground. Elan E6 is a 47 foot performance cruiser from Elan Yachts. Developed in cooperation with Humphreys Yacht Design, Pininfarina and Gurit, it's aimed at being the fastest, stiffest and lightest performance cruiser in segment of fully fitted dual purpose yachts.
