Dynakite | The Live [Equipment] | Multihulls World
For several years now, Beyond the Sea has been developing solutions tailored to various needs. LibertyKite®, designed for boats of 12 to 65 feet (4 to 20 meters) in length, is a self-stabilizing emergency sail that has also found recreational use. SeaKite® is for use on ships from 80 to 300 feet (25 to 90 meters) with an automated system designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption. Sitting between the two, Dynakite is aimed at vessels from 40 to 100 feet (12 to 30 meters). “Dynakite is designed for cruising catamarans and powercats from 12 to 30 meters (40 to 100 feet). It is an intermediate solution, in terms of both performance and price, perfectly suited to this sector,” explains Antoine Dechaufour, Sales Director. The system’s architecture is deliberately simple: a boom, an electric winch, and a kite connected by two lines. The whole thing can be deployed or furled away in just a few minutes. “We like to call it “plug & kite”. The idea is to make this technology accessible to everyone, without any complicated learning curve,” continues Antoine. This decisive simplicity allows everyone to immediately enjoy this alternative to using the engine. First and foremost, Dynakite provides additional safety: in the event of engine failure or dismasting, it offers independent propulsion, capable of maintaining the boat at a speed of 4 to 8 knots depending on conditions. It also reduces fuel consumption by an average of 20 to 30% on long passages for multipowers, an obvious ecological and economic gain. Finally, it opens the door to a different kind of sailing. “Many customers initially buy a kite for safety reasons, then discover that they use it for pleasure. At 6 or 7 knots, with the engines off, you’re free enjoy the ocean in a different way,” says Antoine. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests!
