Discovering Alaska's BEST Hot Springs in the Off-Season!

Where did everybody go?! We're back in beautiful Warm Springs Bay on Baranof Island in Southeast Alaska, and something is very different this time. Just a few weeks ago, the docks were packed with boats and people enjoying the hot springs. Now, we've practically got the whole place to ourselves! And we can't quite figure out why everyone leaves when it's still so beautiful here. We spend nine wonderful days aboard Alaskan Gypsy, enjoying the quiet fall season, soaking in the public hot tubs overlooking the bay, hiking through the rainforest, searching for blueberries, and visiting the incredible natural hot springs beside a roaring river. We also take our little skiff exploring through a narrow, rocky passage into a sheltered bay. With the tide dropping, we have to keep an eye on the water if we want to make it back out! There's plenty of rain, a little sunshine, some beautiful scenery, and lots of laughs along the way. We love exploring Southeast Alaska outside the busy summer season, and Warm Springs Bay is one of those places that keeps drawing us back.
