Density, Mass and Volume in Relation to Ship Stability

Density is the mass per unit volume of any given substance. Relative Density (RD) of a substance is a ratio of the density of the substance in question to that of fresh water. Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. Volume is the quantity of three-dimensional space occupied by solid, liquid, or gas.
