Covid Sailing: An Unplanned 5,000 mile Pacific Ocean passage Ep. 13
After we crossed the Panama Canal, Covid made traveling the world by sailboat much more complicated. This is our story of "escaping covid". With Panama locking down, closing airports, limiting boat movements and refusing to issue exit documents, we decided that we had to get out of dodge. In mid-March 2020, our first two choices (Galapagos and French Polynesia) closed their borders and we decided to take the big leap and embark on an unplanned nearly 5,000 nautical mile passage into the world's biggest ocean. And we caught a huge marlin along the way. _____________________ 0:00 Intro 0:29 Big Provisioning 1:20 Our First and Second Destination closed their borders 3:01 Starting the passage 3:38 Why I decided to leave land 4:42 Trying out our Parasailor spinnaker 6:24 BIG marlin! 8:23 The blood starts flowing 10:22 Failure 11:10 Workout on Tengah 11:38 Another fish! 14:27 First sign of civilization 14:38 Approaching land 15:40 Celebratory Meal
