Could I Start Over Here?

I had heard a lot about the Philippines. Beautiful islands. Friendly people. A lower cost of living. A place where maybe—just maybe—I could imagine starting over. So in 2025, I decided to stop wondering and take a quick flight over to see it for myself. But there were some big questions. Could I actually work from the Philippines? Could I build a life there? And even if I liked it, I couldn’t stay very long. Back home, my father was depending on me. So this wasn’t a move. It wasn’t even really a plan yet. It was simply a first look at another possibility.
