Changing the oil in a saildrive while the boat is in the water (afloat) - Boat Projects

In this video, we change the oil in our S130 Saildrive while the boat is still in the water. We have changed the oil in the drive before while the boat was on the hard, but this time take the opportunity to change the oil while the boat is afloat. Note you can't extract all the oil this way and you need to check the diameter of the extraction tube if your saildrive against the tube on the extraction point to make sure you get a good seal. I still recommend lifting the boat as the anodes will only last about a year but it's useful if you need to change the oil in the leg.
