Bilge Pumps

Continuing our series of Tech Corner videos on jobs you might be able to get done on your boat if you're lucky enough to be able to get to it, even if you can't sail it. We're releasing this video on Bilge pumps from the Patreon site as it's an important item to check especially if you're having to leave your boat for long periods. Bilge Pumps are items that are often forgotten but vital when needed, when did you last check yours? We have three pumps on Fair Isle: a hand bellows type pump; an electric pump and a mechanical pump driven by the engine. We check them over, replace the automatic switch mechanism on the electric pump & talk about best wiring practices aboard.
