AYSF at the America's Cup World Series San Francisco
The American Youth Sailing Force volunteered their time at the America's Cup World Series in San Francisco this August. It gave the guys an opportunity to see behind the scenes at an America's Cup regatta and to get up close to the AC45's and the people connected to the campaigns. Everyone was excited to be able to talk to the sailors who are competing for the Cup and to ask them about sailing the AC 45's. Watching the boats and sailors strengthened their commitment to being in the Red Bull Youth America's Cup next summer. Right after the World Series AYSF continued training on small fast boats competing in the International 18' skiff regatta and the Rolex Big Boat Series where they sailed on the 1/3 scale model of the AC72's - the SL33 - which they described as "wicked fast".
