A Wave Came Through My Hatch While I Was Sleeping | Sailing Solo on the Indian Ocean – Ep. 285

A giant squall. Two rainbows. Breaking waves. 34 knots of wind. And one wave coming straight through the hatch while I’m sleeping. As the weather deteriorates, I’m changing headsails, switching to the storm jib and reefing the mainsail while Loveworkx is being thrown sideways by the waves. There isn't much sun, so I have to run the engine to keep the batteries charged. Then the front arrives and the wind increases to 34 knots. Through the night, Loveworkx keeps speeding towards Mauritius, with waves breaking against the side of the boat.
