97 - Sabang, Indonesia - Part 1

In this episode Saoirse arrives in Sabang, Indonesia, north of Sumatra. While underway we display how we refuel, using a siphon hose from a jerrican. Upon arrival in Sabang, we head up a lookout tower and Kevin gets a nasty surprise. Sabang is a neat little island unlike most of the other Indonesian islands we've visited. A walking tour shows us some lookouts and history, including abandoned coastal fortifications. The roads are great, so we rented scooters for a tour of the island, and got to see a waterfall, the "Kilometer Zero" monument, monkeys, and a thermal hotspring on the coast....though it was not attractive for a swim....and smelled like eggs.
