60 knots of wind at sea! #sailing #hugeseas #galeforce Ep26

As Hangtime heads south for the winter season the crew encountered the beginning of Tropical Storm Rebekah and got bashed around in 60 knots of wind and 5 m seas. These are by far the biggest seas Hangtime has faced, we had a great crew who stayed calm and handled the heavy weather perfectly. I was texting them in the midst of it to see how they were holding up and was told 'We're all crying for our mommy's!' That said we have confirmed that Hangtime is a 'mighty fine boat'. Boat life is challanging and busy but we have been learning as we go and have a great appreciation for the sailing community and the willingness of others to teach and share skills. After two seasons in the Caribben we're hoping to Hangtime through the Panama Canal and onto New Zealand in 2021.
