2019 Frosties Regatta IRC 1 Race Reviews

Strangford Lough Yacht Club once again hosted the season ending Frosties Regatta on the picturesque shores of upper Strangford Lough. There were 9 yachts entered in this years IRC 1 regatta, with 7 boats regularly hitting the start line. The racing in this years Frosties Regatta was closer than ever in the IRC 1 class with the boats regularly finishing within seconds of each other and several ties which is rare to see in ICR racing. GTR was back to defend their title which they won for the first time in the last year Frosties. They were expecting close competition from two other local boats, HiJacker and Flint, and you would be unwise to rule out MoviStar Blue who has won the regatta countless times before. The Regatta was held over 4 weekend with 8 races in total. The series was a classic with 3 different race winners and 3 boats that could still take the title coming into the last day for racing. Race 5 was a highlight with close racing and multiple lead changes be sure to check it out !
