While sailing the world on our 44 ft Salona, I contracted Dengue Fever in Tahiti. I didn't know that I had it until I took a trip to the U.S. for my mother's birthday. One day I was fine and the next day I had 103.3 fever. It definitely lives up to its name of break bone fever. All the bones in my body felt like they were cracking. It started with a pain in my eye that I thought was just my contact. I got a cough, sore throat, chills, and felt more fatigued and groggy than normal. 3 to 4 days of 103.3° fever and then I started getting stomach pain on my right side. #mosquitovirus #sailingkashmir #wakethenations #givethanksinallthings
