- Dunkerque to Cherbourg. It took us 36 hours to move our home 185 nautical miles â almost entirely under sail, with the engine running for just 3 hours đ Living on a sailboat means home is wherever we drop anchorâĻ or dock in a new marina. The view changes, the neighbors drift by, but the creaking of the rig, the warmth of our tiny galley, and the sound of Anker snoring on the floor â thatâs our constant ⨠And thatâs something Signe, especially, has been longing for â after moving almost every year since childhood, changing addresses like seasons. Together weâve moved five times in the last six years. So having a home that stays with us, wherever we go, brings a sense of calm weâve both been craving. Weâre not just traveling. Weâre taking our home with us, one nautical mile at a time. âĩđ
