Financial Freedom Friday: Here's a video summarizing the changes in our budget from a house in Sacramento, to a condo on Oahu and now to a sailboat. In December 2015 we moved from Sacramento to Oahu and went from 2 incomes to one. In August 2016 we bought a sailboat and in October we became full-time liveaboards. We will start making monthly budget updates. Coming soon!

Happy Financial Freedom Friday We did pretty good this month. Really trying to keep the alcohol and grocery budget under control. We will see how we do this coming month. Pat got a really nice bonus from his job and we will also be getting his tax refund. We will get a chance to make an extra payment towards the boat and also get some fun things for ourselves and the boat. I am also hoping to get a couple part time jobs. We will see how that goes. Most of the day was spent in New Mexico and Arizona today. It has been a long time since we have been out this way. Ended up with a beautiful sunset.

I forgot it was Easter Monday..... In New Zealand, they take a holiday seriously and NOTHING was open. The boatyard was not even open and almost no one was working on their boat. Without safety equipment and supplies sanding the hull was not going to happen. So I decided to embrace the holiday and have a fun day with the kids! The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born.
