Ankerwinde Lofrans Tigres koplett zerlegen — alle Schritte, was war kaputt war, was das Wartungskit taugt und warum ich zur Flex greifen musste. Mitnehmer verkippt, Klemmnuss gerissen: Was ich bei der Demontage gelernt hab, hätte ich gern vorher gewusst. Als Liveaboard brauche ich die Ankerwinde täglich — aus „kurz nachgucken" wurde eine halbe Stunde später ein halb zerlegtes Boot. Das Messingrad saß bei 126 Grad immer noch fest, also ran mit der Flex. Das 90-Euro-Wartungskit enthält hauptsächlich Schrauben — Lager und Feder fehlen. The boat is CE certified in Category B (Offshore) for up to 10 persons. Why does the YOT 36's 13-foot beam matter? Standard marina slips in South Florida and most US coastal markets accommodate boats up to roughly 14 feet of beam. Many power catamarans in the 36-foot length class exceed this at the slip, which limits docking options and increases marina costs. The YOT 36's 13 foot 1 inch at-rest beam allows it to fit standard slips throughout South Florida, the Bahamas, and most US coastal cruising grounds. When the floating terraces deploy, the boat becomes a 17 foot 9 inch wide entertaining platform for sandbar days, swim sessions, and anchor-outs. How do the floating terraces work? The YOT 36 features port and starboard floating terraces (fold-out side platforms) mounted on the cockpit. Lowered, the terraces add nearly four feet of usable deck width and create direct water access from both sides of the boat. Folded up, they return to slip-compliant beam width. Deployment is electric and takes seconds. What engines does the YOT 36 use? The optional upgrade are twin Mercury Verado V10 400 horsepower outboards. The boat cruises at approximately 25 knots and reaches a top speed of approximately 40 knots. Mercury joystick docking control, Skyhook dynamic positioning, Zipwake automatic trim tabs, and a Simrad chart plotter with integrated engine data complete the helm package. A 6.5 kW diesel generator with a dedicated diesel tank powers air conditioning for the cabins and the isinglass-enclosed helm. What is the YOT 36's cabin layout? The YOT 36 in this configuration has two cabins, both with private heads and showers. The port side has a queen-size berth, the starboard side has a single berth in a narrower configuration. The main cabin is accessed by three short steps from the cockpit and includes storage cabinetry and a head with shower basin. The layout supports weekend stays and short cruises for couples or small families. What's in the cockpit and on deck? The cockpit includes forward or aft-facing convertible bench seating, a cocktail and dining table that drops to a sun pad, a retractable awning, a sink with workspace counter, an outdoor grill, twin refrigerators, and storage under every seat. A hardtop covers the helm and cockpit. The bow has its own sun pad, bench seat, retractable awning, and an electric windlass under a hatch that also opens into the main cabin for light and ventilation. Navigation am Segelboot auf Langfahrt: Plotter, iPad, Handy, Papierkarten — wie das zusammenspielt. Ein Freund fragte mich, ob er einen zweiten Plotter braucht. Meine Antwort hat ihn überrascht. Ich hab auf der La Licorne kein teures Cockpit-Setup — und trotzdem navigiere ich zuverlässig auf Langfahrt. Mein Raymarine C120 ist aus den 90ern, kein NMEA, alte Karten. Aber er macht Radar und er funktioniert immer. Das eigentliche Herzstück ist ein uraltes gebrauchtes iPad der sechsten Generation mit Navionics und AIS überlagert. Diese Kombination — aktuelle Seekarte plus AIS — ist für mich auf See das Entscheidende. Dazu kommt mein Handy mit Navily, Windy, Ankeralarm und dem elektronischen Logbuch. Und Papierkarten, die ich manchmal fast vergesse, obwohl sie vorgeschrieben sind und besonders an der Atlantikküste oder im Englischen Kanal wirklich gerettet haben. Ganz am Ende gibt es noch einen Tipp, den ich fast vergessen hätte: wie du deine gesamte Navigation mit einem Backofen vor Blitzeinschlag schützt. This week we’re giving you a full walkthrough of our homebuilt catamaran to show just how much progress has happened lately. When you work on a project every single day, it’s hard to notice the small changes — but once we started walking through each space, even we were surprised by how far things have come. Along the way, we’ll show some of the projects we completed over the winter that never made it into an episode, including repainting all of the cabinets (because apparently I couldn’t leave them alone 😅), updates to the engine rooms, and some of the systems now being prepared for hoses, pumps, and plumbing. We also talk about a few areas currently on hold while we wait for materials and supplies to arrive. Before the walkthrough, I start tackling one of the biggest exterior jobs yet: prepping the cabin top for paint. Since we decided to move away from gelcoat and paint the boat instead, we now need to sand away the glossy surface and identify any low spots before primer can begin. Thankfully, the first test sections went much better than expected. After using a guide coat to check fairness, we found far fewer low spots than we were bracing ourselves for — which hopefully means a lot less sanding when we move on to the hull sides next spring.
