In this first full review of the brand new 2027 Fairline Targa 58 GTO, we take you through absolutely everything; from the spectacular beach club and huge cockpit to the beautifully finished interior, accommodation and that wonderfully clean new helm. There’s plenty to explore on board, including the drop-down balconies, garage and beach club arrangement, enormous cockpit table, outdoor galley, three-cabin layout and some seriously impressive detailing throughout. Invictus is an excellent vessel for the active owner operator couple. Her generous size offers spacious quarters for full-time on-board travel, entertaining and hosting guests. Guests will appreciate the private accommodations with separate head. Her interior layout features two staterooms: the owner accommodation is forward, with an ensuite full head. The bed is large, there are multiple lockers and drawers, and this is a quiet place to read, relax and sleep. The spacious guest room is amidships, to starboard. The guest quarter includes a L- shaped settee that converts to a bed. The room also features a desk against the bulwark, and Miele laundry appliances to wash and dry clothes that can both run off battery power without the need for the generator. The second full head with shower is a step across the companionway from the guest stateroom, conveniently located for all aboard. The engine room has a large hatch in the hallway sole with a ladder that leads to stand up head room for easier service and inspections with central access to both engines. The large, upper-level pilothouse has 360-degree visibility and is equipped with two navy STIDD helm chairs with MFD control in the Captain’s armrest and a small refrigerator. The spacious entry level saloon is wrapped in warm cherry and features two custom leather La-Z-Boy recliners, an L-shaped settee covered in Ultraleather, a bookcase, a cherry hi-lo table that opens to easily seat eight for dinner and can be moved outside for al fresco dining, an extra freezer, and copious storage. In this third episode, David Seal sits down once again with SeaNet founder Matty Zadnikar to look at what happened long before delivery and the extraordinary amount of work that went into taking this project from an owner’s initial ideas to a completed yacht. The entire process took 44 months, but as Matty explains, those 44 months weren’t simply construction time. Around eight months were spent before the contract was even signed, defining exactly what the owner wanted, developing detailed specifications, benchmarking shipyards and negotiating the contract. The starting point wasn’t the shipyard or even the exterior design. It was the owner and how he intended to use the yacht. Moving from a 35-metre production yacht to a fully custom 53-metre project meant starting with a blank sheet of paper and understanding everything from cruising plans and entertainment to wellness, cuisine and everyday life on board. The captain, engineers, chief stewardess and even the chef were involved in developing the specification. Matty explains that the more detailed the specification is before signing, the less room there is for unexpected changes during construction. In this case, the final deviation from the initial budget was just 0.05%, largely due to the owner later choosing to upgrade to metallic paint. David and Matty also discuss the construction itself and SeaNet’s approach to project management. Specialist surveyors were brought in for different areas, including welding, paint, construction and the yacht’s highly specified interior. Rather than trying to keep every discipline in-house, SeaNet coordinated the different specialists while maintaining oversight of the project and its finances. Then comes the moment everyone has been working towards: delivery. Matty explains why he won’t accept a yacht unless the technical list is virtually at zero, why certain cosmetic items can sometimes wait, and why taking ownership doesn’t mean the owner can immediately step aboard and start cruising. Tenders, equipment and owner supplies still need to be loaded, while the yacht has to be prepared, registered and transferred before the first guests arrive. The finished yacht itself remains deliberately under wraps for now. David and Matty explain that the intention is to build anticipation before revealing the completed 53-metre yacht in full, including an interior that Matty describes as among the highest-specification interiors he has personally seen.
