Le nouveau Wauquiez PS 42 a été conçu autour d’une carène résolument performante. Etrave verticale et voute rasante donne au bateau une longueur à la flottaison maximum, signe de modernité mais surtout garant de vitesse moyenne élevée. Une étrave puissante et la carène à bouchain adoucis et évolutif, donnent une stabilité de forme très importante pour rendre le bateau stable et facile à mener dans la brise, tout en augmentant, par des mouvements amortis, le confort à la mer. Nous avons particulièrement travaillé les lignes d’eau arrière qui tout en jouant la carte de la puissance optimisent la surface mouillée pour le portant et le petit temps. Outre la carène, les appendices ont été l’objet de toutes nos attentions : Bi-safran, la manœuvrabilité, que ce soit sous voile ou au moteur, est renforcée et le contrôle du bateau est total dans toutes les conditions même les plus dures. Bien lestés avec une quille GTE en plomb de 2.15 pour 3 tonnes et un PTE pour les amateurs de mouillage en eaux peu profondes sont en L a centre de gravité bas pour améliorer la stabilité dans la brise. In 2014 Ed completed an 18 month circumnavigation with his father, and I (Paige) got to tag along for most of the Pacific🙌🏻. Following Ed's return we knew we would do whatever it took to get back on the water, this time in our own boat, together. So, after nearly 5 years of planning, saving, and questioning our sanity, we quit our jobs in 2019 and sold most of our non-essential/non-heartfelt belongings. I'm curious to know if this is the average population density of crown of thorns sea stars for this area of Baja California. I went down a little rabbit hole about their biology, behavior, and ways we can support the coral reef ecosystem. That being said, what I witnessed while scuba diving in La Paz is nothing compared to the imagery I found of these sea stars taking over coral reefs in Australia.
