Miyabi is a custom-built Visamara, built for fast cruising in the Mediterranean and completed a refit in 2018. She could set an example regarding development and design innovation, offering large space compared to other yachts in her size range. Thanks to her hull, derived from the modern Volvo 70, she ensures the most comfortable pass on the waves and convenience of navigation. Miyabi has adopted the open space concept for her salon and galley. Her raised salon allows full visibility to the exterior when standing up. The galley was moved forward to define the separate functions of the two environments and at the same time, to give continuity in the space. Her experienced crew of 2 looks forward to a busy season in the Balearic islands.
⚓ We still shout at each other when we drop anchor and then act like nothing happened afterwards 😆 ⛵ I (Greta) still question if the boat will actually turn back upright when we start heeling 🍜 Sometimes offshore “dinners” are just cup noodles and that is totally fine 🛠️ We have clear job assignments that have not really changed in the last 7 years 🧽 We procrastinate when it comes to scrubbing the hull 🌊 We still have a lot to learn. Sailing is not something you can fully master in a classroom. Some lessons only come from being out there in the elements. Here is to embracing the quirks, the learning curves and the messy bits of life at sea. That is what makes the journey ours 💙 If you are dreaming about boatlife or curious about what it really takes to sail offshore, scroll to our link in bio. You will find resources, tips and a glimpse into the reality of living on the water so you can start charting your own course. 13:00 hours August 28, 2011. The engine is running to recharge the battery. I'm in the cabin and only find the corner of one cushion is wet. Everything else is in great shape. Nothing broken. Only a wet cushion. The exterior of the boat is good and The Force, our dinghy, is just where we left her. Winds probably didn't get higher than 50 mph our mettle wasn't tested to the max but it was tested.
