Miyabi is a custom-built Visamara, built for fast cruising in the Mediterranean and completed a refit in 2018. She could set an example regarding development and design innovation, offering large space compared to other yachts in her size range. Thanks to her hull, derived from the modern Volvo 70, she ensures the most comfortable pass on the waves and convenience of navigation. Miyabi has adopted the open space concept for her salon and galley. Her raised salon allows full visibility to the exterior when standing up. The galley was moved forward to define the separate functions of the two environments and at the same time, to give continuity in the space. Her experienced crew of 2 looks forward to a busy season in the Balearic islands.
3 Books on Childhood Trauma Let us dive into the depths of three transformational books illuminating the nuances of childhood trauma. 1. "The Myth of Normal" by Gabor Maté aims to unpick popular but accepted notions of normality, pointing out how societal roles can be conduits for the transmission of trauma in children, dispelling the rationality about understanding mental health and wellness. 2. "No Bad Parts" by Richard Schwartz introduces the reader to the model of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and offers it in a gentle and compassionate approach, explaining how there are different parts of our psyche. Schwartz illustrates how all parts within us, even the apparently bad ones, contribute to our healing process. 3. "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk. The book seems to delve into complicated relationships about trauma and body integration. The scientist blends his scientific research with personal narratives that expose how trauma actually lives in the body and the pathways toward healing found through innovative therapies. Together, the books powerfully explore childhood trauma by giving hope and strategies for recovery. Whether a mental health provider, survivor, or simply interested in how trauma affects people, these readings are crucial to comprehend healing.
Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic provided an unforgettable week of Olympic sailing as the best young sailors from across Europe gathered to compete for medals at the Junior European Championships. A wide variety of wind conditions and sunny weather ensured exciting racing and great experiences on and off the water. The 2024 European Junior Championships in the 49er and 49erFX classes, together with the Eurocup event in the 29er class, brought an exciting 4 days of intense racing to the Lake Lipno for over 140 competitors from 18 nations. The event was held under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic Mr. Petr Pavel. On Thursday, despite a favourable forecast, there was only one race in the 49er and 49erFX classes as a storm thwarted the plans of the race committee. However, the opening ceremony on the iconic Windy Point beach brought smiles to the faces of the competitors. https://49er.org/exciting-junior-european-championships-2024-in-olympic-49er-and-49erfx-classes/
