A weather window opened up with cool temperatures and descent winds. Toni and I loaded "Moments in Time" for an overnight trip. We slipped the dock lines and tacked up the Patuxent River looking for a spot to drop the hook for the night.

This might have not been a lap of the planet for these highly accomplished sailors and their crews, but there was no doubt that as the longest leg so far it was also the most complex and, as it turned out, the most stressful too. From straight line blasts to full on park-ups, the leader board took several major shuffles and ensured that few of the crews got much sleep at all during the 1,400 mile leg.

It's finaly time to UNTIE THE LINES again! My sailboat Karl and me are back to explore the world a bit more :). I hope you will spare some of your time on fridays again to share the joy of the crusing life, to learn more sailing and refit skills with me, to discover new destinations and to get to know some great people.
