Esistono anche barografi elettronici che memorizzano i valori per produrre successivamente i grafici. Avere una traccia grafica della variazione della pressione è molto utile per le previsione del tempo, soprattutto delle perturbazioni. barometro: (s.m.) (Previsioni) barometer Apparecchio meccanico o elettronico per la misurazione della pressione atmosferica. Il barometro più utilizzato è il tipo "aneroide" dove uno strumento meccanico o elettronico amplifica l'effetto della pressione atmosferica su una membrana o su una molla posta in un contenitore dove è stato fatto il vuoto pneumatico. Tale tipo di strumento è di difficile taratura e si utilizza più per misurare le variazioni di pressione che per ottenere i valori assoluti. Infatti tali variazioni sono interessanti perchè indicano cambiamenti del tempo.
