The wide open apeture setting reduces flicker, but the depth of field makes things look out of focus on f/1.4... Better to accept some flicker and fix in post-processing. 4. Shooting on North Ave footbridge is way too shaky. Image stabilization is a pain in the neck. 5. Egg timer motion devices don't handle the weight of a DSLR very well.
