In this #short video, I practice a new (for me) Solo Sailing Docking Technique. The dock line standing by is tied off to the winch. As I slowly motor my 32 foot sailboat into the slip, I loop the dock line around the dock cleat. Then wrap the line back around the winch and the forward momentum of the sailboat will pull you snuggly into the dock. EASY! If you'd like to watch the long-form video, you can find that here: https://youtu.be/drl8hDK4kdY?si=xrsjVuPSJU-4tRtA If you'd like to help me achieve my sailboat life dream, consider becoming a Patreon or helping out on Paypal! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=QRY32Z64LYWF4 https://www.patreon.com/EdwardSeaton You can help for as little as 3$ per month and every little bit helps. This video was shot on Stefan Voss’ Archambault 35 OM ripping along into the darkest night on the Round Skagen Race 2022. That night they sped through the fleet keeping up with 50 and 55-footers. The finish of the 510-mile race was much less excited as they picked their way from catspaw to catspaw to keep moving in the lightest of breezes.
Look at this #remorafish cleaning the tank of our #divebuddy, such generous fish! Glad he doesn't have to clean the tank by himself since he has his own private #underwater cleaning assistance! The remora fish, also known as #suckerfish are a group of fish species belonging to the family #Echeneidae. These unique and interesting fish are known for their specialized adaptations that allow them to hitch rides to larger marine animals such as sharks, #whales, #seaturtles, and even #Mantarays. The modified dorsal fin possessed by these fish acts like a suction pad and is so unique, it is called a “sucker disc.” With this sucker disc, they attach themselves to their host’s body and eat parasites and dead skin, providing a cleaning service that benefits the host. Interesting! Wanna see them attached to #manta rays or #sharks for yourself? Join us on an extraordinary diving trip in #Komodo or #RajaAmpat this year.
