In this #short video, I practice a new (for me) Solo Sailing Docking Technique. The dock line standing by is tied off to the winch. As I slowly motor my 32 foot sailboat into the slip, I loop the dock line around the dock cleat. Then wrap the line back around the winch and the forward momentum of the sailboat will pull you snuggly into the dock. EASY! Hey guys, I think knowing your knots is a very important part of boat life since you gotta use knots every single day - but I do know a surprisingly big number of sailors who are more the “if you don’t know how to knot, knot a lot” type! 🤪😂 I definitely always make sure to tie off my dinghy properly- you don’t wanna come back to where you “parked” your dinghy, just to find an empty spot - happens more often to sailors than you’d think. 🤣😜 But KNOT on my watch!
