Race One of the annual narrows series on Strangford Lough got under way under cloudy skies with a moderate breeze GTR worked to leeward of its main competitors before hitting the pin with speed which allowed them to punch out into the stronger tide which helped the leewbow the three boats to windward of them. It did not take long for them to cast a wind shadow on the boats to windward of them allowing them to put the bow down and race off towards mark 1 in the lead.. We spent days swimming naked, kayaking and exploring tunnels leading to hidden lagoons full of wonder. Floating calmly in warm, crystal-clear waters above pure white sands, brilliant corals and abundant sea life while surrounded by amazing rock formations and lush, tropical jungle with the air filled by birdsong.
