When the sailing weather does not cooperate, we make up for it. We had gone out for a morning sail and returned in early afternoon due to rain and lack of wind. We stopped at Lighthouse Inn in Solomons for lunch. Monica and I enjoyed some fresh oysters on the half shell and some raw oyster shooters. Toni never had an oyster shooter so we encouraged her to try one and make a Moment in Time. See how she did.

Toni and I had the opportunity to check out the first Seawind 1370 in the United States. We did not think twice and headed up to Sail Away Catamarans to enjoy a demonstration sail on Damsel Fly. The 1370 is only 4 feet longer than the 1260, but it is a very different boat. There were things we liked and things we did not, so like every other boat known to mankind, it comes down to compromises. Like all Seawinds, she sailed very nicely in the low winds.

Toni and I headed to “Moments in Time” to raise and furl the screecher sail but the pouring rain caused by Ernesto out in the Atlantic delayed our arrival. Since the breeze was too much to raise and furl a large sail, we decided to rig the flag halyards off the port and starboard spreaders. At least we got something checked off our “to do” list. Another good day, another Moment in Time. Subscribe and share the adventure!
