In this video we’re sailing upwind in 35+ knots of breeze in Johnstone Strait during the VanIsle360 race with a double-reefed main sail and storm jib. A crew member is on the foredeck securing the #3 jib we had previously been flying in the short video https://youtube.com/shorts/VRAEp8M49Y4, but ripped in half. The head literally ripped right off. He is wearing a harness and tether! The sky is completely blue, but everybody is still completely soaked from the spray. Lots of sails were destroyed in that leg, including the #3 jib that is now on the foredeck. We are engaged by the buyer to inspect the boat before taking it over. That was our first meeting with Saxdor. I have to admit that I came with certain prejudices because we inspected boats of a similar type and could not find any justification for the prices that reached up to million of Euros. Saxdor is advertised as the fastest growing European brand, and according to what we have seen, we are not surprised.
