Let’s talk about those Sailfin Snapper in one of our Ribbons Reef episodes, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on this footage. While we’ve seen plenty of smaller schools over the years, this one was HUGE! We can only assume they were spawning on this reef edge when we came across them - as a lot of other species seemed to be around the same time. Amazing to witness and catch on film. Secondly, a few people have told us these are good eating however the first thing that shows up on a google search is that they’ve got a high cig risk. So yeah, don’t think I’ll risk that. Would love to hear your thoughts. #FishSpawning #SpawningEvent #SailfinSnapper #GBR #GreatBarrierReef #Diving #Ocean #fishing **SUPPORT US** For bonus content and giveaways please consider supporting us at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/uap Buy us a beer! paypal.me/sailingpopao ***OUR GEAR*** Quick Dry Will & Wind Towels https://willandwind.com.au/?ref=svpopao 10% Coupon: 'JESSIE10' Goosehill SUP Board: https://goosehillsport.com/?ref=atc3qwtglr2 10% Coupon: 'JESS10' Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/sachcw/
Sailing Ibiza to Mallorca | Palma Cathedral, Sail Repairs & Stormy Anchorages - Episode 7 Thanks for joining our tiny adventure ⛵️ 🧡 https://youtu.be/gwGwf-1tIb0?si=bTGZZVVA3LvtczhD In this episode of Sailing Sacred Seas, we say goodbye to the magical island of Ibiza and set sail on our second offshore passage to Mallorca aboard our Liveaboard sailboat, Kaia our Lagoon 440. With full sails and steady winds, we arrive just in time for a golden sunset in the bay of Peguera. We explore the historic heart of Palma, including the stunning Palma Cathedral (La Seu) and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, before enjoying some authentic Mallorcan cuisine at a local favorite. Back on board, it’s time for some essential sailboat maintenance. We take down our headsail, inspect and lubricate the furling system, and patch a few tears on the leech. With Vika on the winch and Kaia back in shape, we’re ready to continue our journey. From scenic anchorages along Mallorca’s rugged north coast, to hiding out in a marina during a passing mistral storm, this leg of our journey is filled with beauty, challenge, and rhythm of life at sea. 👉 Next up: Menorca – raw, wild, and deeply peaceful.
