Let’s talk about those Sailfin Snapper in one of our Ribbons Reef episodes, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on this footage. While we’ve seen plenty of smaller schools over the years, this one was HUGE! We can only assume they were spawning on this reef edge when we came across them - as a lot of other species seemed to be around the same time. Amazing to witness and catch on film. Secondly, a few people have told us these are good eating however the first thing that shows up on a google search is that they’ve got a high cig risk. So yeah, don’t think I’ll risk that. Old video from 2019. After a sail back from Punta Gorda, we were waiting to enter Burnt Store Marina. We just lowered our sail and were waiting for the channel to clear out. The wind surprised us in our way back. Our boat at the time was a Tartan 33. #sailing #Tartan33 #storm
