Let’s talk about those Sailfin Snapper in one of our Ribbons Reef episodes, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on this footage. While we’ve seen plenty of smaller schools over the years, this one was HUGE! We can only assume they were spawning on this reef edge when we came across them - as a lot of other species seemed to be around the same time. Amazing to witness and catch on film. Secondly, a few people have told us these are good eating however the first thing that shows up on a google search is that they’ve got a high cig risk. So yeah, don’t think I’ll risk that. Das Wort Shaka, begleitet von einer typischen Handhaltung, bei der die geschlossene Faust mit abgespreiztem Daumen und kleinem Finger gehoben wird (siehe Abbildung) ist ein ganz allgemein auf Hawaii und per Übernahme durch die dortigen Surfer unter diesen Sportlern gebräuchliche Geste, die zu verschiedenen Anlässen gebraucht wird und etwa so viel bedeutet wie „Cool!", „Locker!", „In Ordnung!". Unter Surfern wird das Zeichen auch als Hang Loose bezeichnet und zur Begrüßung genutzt.
