- - - In this video, Luc JURIEN, CEO of Alubat, presents the double-ended mainsheet system with tackles, mounted on fixed points, fitted on the OVNI 490 and across the entire OVNI range. This clever setup eliminates the need for a mainsheet traveller while allowing for precise 3D trimming of the mainsail. ✅ Key advantages of this system: + Fine and accurate mainsail trimming + The leeward sheet serves as a preventer, enhancing safety + Acts as a natural boom vang as long as the boom remains between the two sheet points + When sailing downwind, the conventional boom vang takes over + A system that is robust, simple, and safe at sea 👉 In this video, Luc explains in detail how this system works and its advantages, both in terms of performance and safety. Feel free to leave your questions in the comments and share your feedback if you’re already sailing with this setup. 👍 Subscribe to discover more videos about sailing and OVNI yachts.

Here is the port helm station on our boat. The removable helm window allows you to see completely through the boat when removed as well as have access to our chart plotter. In heavy weather or rain we keep the helm window in place but can still see the chart plotter through it and access it easily around the corner through the doorway. Having @bandgsailing electronics onboard have been a game changer for us compared to our minimal electronics on Adrenaline. Being able to see our true and apparent wind data and even set the autopilot to steer to the wind angle rather than a compass heading has made our sailing way more efficient. All our control lines our led to the cockpit as well so there really is not much reason to have to leave the cockpit in rough conditions.
