Lots and lots of car bog and lots of sanding to round the edges to make the fiberglass stick. So here we go, obviously the first batch of bog I mixed up went hard straight away and I only used maybe half of it. I totally underestimated how quick that stuff goes off... Small batches it is :) I am still a bit nervous when I think about the fiberglassing, I have never done it and I really want to do a good job, I want it to neat! Toni and I left Solomons and headed North. We were looking for an anchorage to spend the night so we could return home the next day. The sailing was great and we found a large isolated spot to drop our hook. The beauty of having a shallow draft. Peaceful and tranquil, with cool breezes :)

Sunshine and a steady 8 knots for breeze brought 14 boat in YTC 1 for the annual KYC Open Keel Boat event. The race committee set two great course with the first race running for just under 2 hours followed by a shorter 1 hour second rave. The local A35 showed everyone a clear pair of heel to win the Bennett Cup with two victories, with the time on GTR scoring to 2 & a 4 to win on count back. GTR owned the boat end of the line for the second start of the day boxing out Exlir and a pack of Impala's that tried to barge in. Strangford lough is a great place to go racing on a sunny spring day. The Team at Bottom up boats will remember to pack the GoPro for their next outing to ensure we can share some more racing footage.....
