Eller ännu värre, utför 😱?. Nästa fråga jag ställer mig, hur ska jag kunna isa av bilen så jag kommer in i den, skratt. Have you ever wondered how we get the grain pattern on our bulkheads to match the doors? It’s easy really, our doors are cut out from the bulkheads. Our bulkheads are laminated in place, they are made of two, 15mm thick marine grade plywood panels bonded together, there is also 0.9-1.2mm thick Sapele mahogany veneer on each side. This is the wood you see once the bulkhead is finished and we like it to match the door, perfectly. Before the bulkhead can be fitted, if there is a doorway, it needs to be added. This poses a few problems. Because every boat is individually built, one boat differs from the next so each yacht uses wood from the same tree, and this keeps the colour and grain pattern consistent throughout, but cutting out a door from a bulkhead would cause the bulkhead to flex. Even at over 30mm (1 1/4 in) thick a little flex could cause a problem and make it difficult to close a door once it’s installed. For this reason, we cut out the door, add the laminated Sapele mahogany frame to the bulkhead and 6mm of solid Sapele mahogany around the door and then fit the door into the bulkhead and secure the two together. Only then do we fit the bulkhead into position on the yacht. Once the bulkhead is securely laminated in place, the doors are removed and labelled before varnishing. The doors and the bulkheads are varnished separately. The bulkheads remain unvarnished to allow the GRP laminate and glues that attach the bulkhead to the hull to bond fully with the wood. Sailing from Vrboska to Stari Grad Up to 37 Knots and unforgettable moments for guests! Nick here. We've had an amazing day in Croatia in Hvar. Today we have sailed from Vrboska. Yes there was a massive forecast of Bura. Northeast 20 to 30 to 40 knots. There has been a lot of wind around for sure but we decided that screw it. We're just going to go we may not get into Stari Grad but we need to sail. I'm not going to sit at the dock all day. So we went out we got hit by 37/38 knots which was absolutely amazing um and then it all kind of just petered out and we sailed through it. Then it picked up and then petered out. So it was very gusty. Very on and off. We now did get to Stari Grad. We managed to get into this spot just here. There's been a bunch of reports around from a lot of the other Skippers. One boat at Lombarda actually ran aground. That's this shot here. They really looked in a bit of a trouble. There's been other reports of 50, up to 50 knots at Markarska and down on the peninsula by Pelješacs as well. So look it's been a hell of a day but we're now here at Stari Grad.
