I can not believe this is the final step on replacing the rotten deck! I've made it! I am so excited, I waited for this day for such a long time. All the hard work, and finally the deck will get finished :) I know I know it's only a small part of the whole boat progress and there is still so much more work that needs to be done, the list is long: new bulwarks, sanding-welding-painting the rail, fiberglass repairs on the main cabin, fixing leaking hatches, installing one new hatch, repainting the whole boat, underwater repairs on the prop shaft once the boat gets lifted again, changing the switchboard for the electronics and so much more. But this huge job, the deck, is finally coming to an END! IG:yvonnemarianna.travels Patreon: SailingStromy

We are a New Sailing Couple Preparing To Install Windlass! This is one short video of several that show part of the process. In this video, Chris is dry-fitting the Windlass, which is fitting before any sealant supplies. He cut two large holes--(a 4" and a 3"), for the chain and the windlass. He also drilled 3/8" mounting holes. Our deck was 5" thick--which is exceptionally THICK! He treated the holes with epoxy to prevent water intrusion. If you dig our journey as a new sailing couple, learning to sail, buying a Sceptre 41, getting ready to sail and launching, we would love you to follow along: Join us on our website at: https://gypseaexplorer.com/ Or on our Instagram Channel: https://www.instagram.com/writerjacks/ Or for another windlass installation video, click here: https://youtube.com/shorts/Sx7oWQS4Keo

Update Day 3: Both Irish crews through to Gold fleet at Olympic qualifier in Lanzarote. Two race wins today for Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove have moved the pair into third overall. They were heading for a top three result in their second race of the day but were disqualified for being fractionally over the line at the start. However, it was the opening race of the day that offered the biggest thrill for the Irish team as Dickson and Waddilove were chased around the course by team-mates Ryan Seaton and Séafra Guilfoyle who scored two second places plus a tenth and moved from 17th to 10th overall. Both teams will now compete in the Gold Fleet. Ireland face Belgium and Italy in the contest for the final nation slot for the Olympics. “Both Irish crews showed their capabilities on the water and in the results today with well deserved places in the Gold fleet ,” commented James O’Callaghan, Irish Sailing’s Performance Director. “Two top three results for Ryan and Seafrá have got them into the top ten where they can build further towards Friday’s finale - this event will come down to the wire!”

Porque não há tantos jovens na vela de cruzeiro? O dinheiro para comprar um barco é o mais óbvio, mas será que é só isso? Tem algo mais? #veleiro #vela #shorts
