hello! It has been a rough few weeks onboard with working through all of the possible routes and weather windows to sail through the Bahamas during what is supposed to be a very active hurricane season. We would have been rushing through and that just seemed silly. So, we’ve come to the difficult decision that it safest for us to sail north until early fall before making our way back south. Let’s talk about those Sailfin Snapper in one of our Ribbons Reef episodes, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on this footage. While we’ve seen plenty of smaller schools over the years, this one was HUGE! We can only assume they were spawning on this reef edge when we came across them - as a lot of other species seemed to be around the same time. Amazing to witness and catch on film. Secondly, a few people have told us these are good eating however the first thing that shows up on a google search is that they’ve got a high cig risk. So yeah, don’t think I’ll risk that.
