Cliff-side vineyards, gallons of wine aged underwater, and family traditions, we hit the road to discover what makes Croatian wine unique. The seaside region of Peljesac is home to many unique, indigenous grape varieties, producing some world-renowned and accredited wines! This area is ideal for grape production as it receives a unique amount of sunlight that reflects off the sea, land, and clouds. The cool breeze coming off the sea contributes to a cool, dry climate, helping the grapes grow in stony, hard soil. Famous Croatian varieties grown along the Peljesac Penninsula include: - Dingac - Plavac Mali - Posip With many local wineries in the area, this region is well worth a visit!
