The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an adventure that changed our lives. We often hear people tell us they would love to do what we are doing, or that we're "living the dream". And Yes! we are living OUR dream and a part of that dream is to share it with you to show you why, how we do it and hopefully inspire you to go out in pursuit of whatever it is to live YOUR dream. We can't count the times we've heard, "I'd love to do that, but I have kids..." We're here to show you that's bullshit. Not everything about this journey has been easy. We hit a reef, were accused of child kidnapping and completely shredded a sail all in the first year. Our mission with this channel is to show you ALL aspects of what it's like live, sail and travel with two kids on a boat in some of the most remote regions of the world.
