We're firing up the engines on Salloo! After buying this 1980 Former Police vessel sight unseen on eBay, we're slowly working our way through the boat to figure out exactly what we're working with. Before we can tackle the BIG refit, we need to know what we're working with and get a plan together. We are putting on our detective hats and uncovering Salloo's systems. We're finding, measuring, and identifying the sullage tank, freshwater tanks, clearing the hallway, lifting floorboards and start figuring out how this girl is put together. And then comes the moment we've all been waiting for… We're FIRING UP Salloo's twin 1980 Detroit Diesel 8V92 engines! That's 375 horsepower per engine -750 HP OF POWER!! And hearing both of them running for the first time is an incredible feeling! We're still very much in the "getting to know the boat" stage. We're learning the machinery, compartments, tanks and systems so we can properly plan the massive refit ahead. And there's a BIG journey coming. We're getting Salloo ready for a 400 nautical mile journey north up Australia's east coast to Gladstone, where the full refit will take place.
