Fiberglassing once again! We beef up the area directly around the keel and specifically the keel bolt area. The keel bolts pass through the hull and through the new glass which is bonded to the original grid structure. It is already as thick as factory in this area, but for good measure we just about double the thickness where the bolts go through. We have the glass, time and means, so better to overbuild than underbuild! Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground - hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made.
