Virtual Red Arrows x Virtual Vulcan to the Skies flypast

On Sunday we were joined by Timon from "Virtual Vulcan to the Skies" and XH558 to conduct a series of flypasts and to pay our respects to Air Commodore Simon Baldwin who passed away last week. As Wing Commander and Officer Commanding 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron at RAF Waddington in 1982, Simon played a key role in the planning and preparation of the Vulcan operations during the Falklands conflict, known as Operation Black Buck. He oversaw the training requirements for the crews, including a number of those who would later be closely associated with XH558. Following his retirement, Simon and his wife Sheila remained huge supporters of the remaining Live Vulcans, as well as Falklands and 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron reunions. We send our sincere condolences to Simon's family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Blue skies, sir. Rest in peace.
