Very scary discovery replacing our escape hatches! We may have sunk!

We decided to replace our escape hatches while in the water in a marina. Our catamaran is a 1996 fountaine Pajot Venezia 42 and was not subjected to the recall of escape hatches. Rather, our escape hatches were just very old and at the end of their life! We purchased our escape hatches from Defender Marine.
