Hello there, welcome to Sailing NV, We’re a sailing family pursuing an unconventional dream of sailing around the world in our recently converted ex Vendée Globe Open 66... or at least we were. We’re currently in Luganville, the 2nd largest town in Vanuatu, preparing for what should have been our biggest passage yet since we bought NV, through the Torres Strait to Indonesia. Days before our planned departure, it seems fate had other plans for us as we had a series of failures, starting with our gearbox, sail, generator, watermaker, and the final straw was when all the paste we’d bought for our 2 week trip from the ONLY shop in town that sold pasta, all had weevils in it!!! You can imagine the emotional state of our Italian captain after the discovery of this culinary catastrophe. In fact, things got so dire, that Timo decided to jump ship… And look for a new more manageable project...
