SW100X - Deck Mould Process

Southern Wind began crafting infused carbon composite yachts with the first 100ft hull in 2004, and all the experience gained in 20 years of mastering this lamination technique has now been brought to bear in the construction of the new SW100X. Our unique female moulds are usually constructed from plywood and carefully assembled by hand, using precise measurements for perfect accuracy. We then coat these moulds with glass fabric and epoxy resin to ensure they are perfectly sealed and ready for the infusion process. This special finish not only seals the mould, but also gives the final product a beautiful, smooth surface. Thanks to this meticulous process, our yachts are incredibly accurate and match the original design perfectly. It's a win-win situation for both Southern Wind and our valued customers.
