Summer in New Zealand - Part I (Ep. 8) | A short tour of our home port Urquharts Bay
Tag along while we take you on a short little tour around our home port in New Zealand. We usually spend our cyclone season in New Zealand out of the cyclone area and to replenish our cruising kitty. Based at Urquharts Bay in the Whangarei Heads, we show you why we chose this area as our base for the season. Clean water, teeming wildlife, fresh seafood, scenic walks, surf beaches and a number of kitespots are some of the reasons why our family is rather happy in this corner of New Zealand. We are now 'Living the Dream' aboard our second boat, an Ocean 80, sailing the South Pacific looking for incredible spots to surf, kite surf and explore! Covid has certainly made travel more difficult these last few years but we still feel fortunate to have NZ and Fiji open to us at this stage.
