BLOG http://www.in-mocean.org Thank you to everybody who has supported the creation of these video and has shared this journey with my sailboat Karl with me so far. It would not have been the same without you. This episode was filmed in 01 / 2021. ? Welcome to Untie The Lines! my name is Nike, I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I explore the beaches around Concholon Bay (Pearl Islands, Panamá), start to paint some new TotalBoat non skid on my deck and take up anchor to solo sail to the next bay. It?s a short sail of only 10nm that start off with a beautiful breeze from the stern but when I have to start heading more upwind, the wind dies down on me. Even changing my fore sails and shaking out the reefs don?t help me to fight against the 2 knots current in the light winds. Well, I definitely did try... Enjoy and Ahoy, Nike & Karl
