Snow Gum has a deck-stepped mast - Garcia Exploration 45

Paulo asked about how water drains away from the base of the mast. While I knew that these Garcia Exploration boats have deck-stepped masts, I didn’t know exactly how rain water (or sea water? Yikes!) gets away from the recess at the base of the mast. Good subject for a video. 🙂 I’ll add that the chain locker has a dedicated bilge pump. Any water that drips off the chain can be pumped out via an above-waterline through-hull near the top of the centreboard box. Surprise, surprise - it was windy. My iPhone’s crackling microphone annoys me as much as anyone, so I’ve done a voiceover, with music! Carolyn says that’s a step too far and she might be right. It takes longer and it breaches our ‘No editing - Just sailing’ rule! 🤔
