Seagull II is the embodiment of a “classic” gentleman’s motor yacht. Although she appears to date from the “roaring 20s” of 100 years ago, she is in fact barely 60 years old. A mere stripling, you might say. Fascinating history Seagull II didn’t always appear quite so sublime. She was built in Croatia in 1952 as a coastal passenger ship, in the days when waterways between islands were the quickest mode of transport. Incredibly, her 54m / 177ft hull was then licensed for an amazing 700 passengers. She sails a little less cramped today, you will be pleased to know. After a complete rebuild in 2004-5, she emerged in a style more reminiscent of the 1920s, with lavish decorations redolent of the Art Nouveau era and luxury furniture and furnishings to match. The needs of today’s discerning guests Although she appears to be from a bygone era, scratch the surface (no, please don’t!) and you will find Seagull II’s spacious and elegant interiors accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 luxurious air-conditioned cabins.
